The City of Cape Town is inviting local Bo-Kaap traders, vendors, and makers to take part in the official launch of the new Bo-Kaap Market, opening at the corner of Pentz Street and Yusuf Drive on Tuesday, 30 September. The market will be open daily from 10:00 to 19:00.

The newly constructed market has been designed as a vibrant community space to support local entrepreneurs, showcase locally produced goods, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bo-Kaap.

Traders Wanted

Bo-Kaap-based traders are encouraged to submit applications to participate.

Priority will be given to small-scale businesses selling crafts, fresh produce, food items, and other locally made products.

The City says this is a unique opportunity to reach residents, visitors, and tourists while contributing to the growth of the local economy. Spaces are limited, so early applications are strongly recommended.

The Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos, said:

“The City’s Economic Growth Directorate is committed to driving economic opportunities, fostering innovation and ensuring inclusive progress across all communities.
