Detectives from the Serious Violent Crime Unit are investigating a triple murder that occurred close to midnight on Saturday, 13 June, in Site B, Khayelitsha.

Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Pama Road, where they discovered the bodies of two men and a woman. The victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared deceased at the scene.

Preliminary information suggests that unknown suspects approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the scene. The motive for the attack has not yet been established.

Meanwhile, police have reinforced their presence in the area to maintain stability and prevent any further violence.

Western Cape MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Anroux Marais, says this senseless attack is yet another reminder of the devastating impact that violent crime has on communities.

“Those responsible must be identified, arrested, successfully prosecuted and removed from our communities.”

Marais has thanked the police for deploying additional resources to the area to maintain stability, urging them to use all available resources to track down the killers.

Marais has also appealed to residents to assist law enforcement agencies by sharing any information that could assist investigators.

“Community cooperation remains one of the most effective weapons in the fight against crime. I encourage anyone with information to report it anonymously through the available reporting channels.”
