    Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen says South Africa’s agricultural exports surged in the first quarter of 2025, reaching over $3.3 billion — a 10% increase year-on-year.   It comes as Statistics South Africa also announced yesterday that agricultural production increased by 15,8% in the first quarter, which helped the country avoid a GDP contraction.   The economy grew by 0,1% in the first quarter, with farming the only sector keeping the economy afloat.

    A 29-year-old man is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court, in connection with the killing of several cats in the Ottery area.
