South Africans will know later today, whether the former minister and president of the ANC’s women’s league, Bathabile Dlamini, has been suspended by the party’s national executive committee, who met over the weekend. This after Dlamini was recently convicted of perjury in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court. The NEC decided last year that all ANC members charged with serious crimes should stand aside. The NEC, the highest decision-making body in the ANC between conferences, met yesterday, to discuss, this and other issues.
