The Western Cape department of Local Government says an estimated 6-thousand people have been affected by last week’s floods.

MEC Anton Bredell says there had been no reports of casualties or any missing or injured persons.

He says flooding affected mostly residents in low-lying areas.

Bredell said no major incidents were reported for the Garden Route District and the Central Karoo District.

He says in the Overberg District, in Grabouw, some roads were damaged, while in the Cape Winelands District, flooding was reported in Kylemore in Stellenbosch.
