All systems go for matric final exams in the Western Cape

Western Cape MEC David Maynier said it’s all systems go, as the Class of 2024 prepares to put pen to paper for the start of the matric final exams that commence on Monday.

 

Grade 12 learners will start with English Paper 3 on Monday morning and Afrikaans Paper 3 in the afternoon. A total of 75 647 candidates will write the National Senior Certificate exams in the Western Cape this year. 123 examination papers will be written before the exams conclude on Wednesday, 27 November 2024.

 

“It’s all systems go for the start of the matric exams in the Western Cape. We thank our matric teachers for the incredible work that they have done this year to prepare our candidates for their final exams,” said Maynier.

He also shared a special message to the learners who will be sitting for these exams:

 

“To our matrics, you have made it this far, and worked so hard to prepare for this moment, so this is the time to really make your efforts count. We can’t wait to see what the Class of 2024 will achieve,” said Maynier.

 

The national results announcement will be held on 15 January 2025, with individual candidate’s results available at schools or online on 16 January 2025.
