ACSA Lets Passengers Track Their Bags in Real Time

Published on

Travelling can be stressful, especially when it comes to keeping an eye on your luggage. Now, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) is making it easier for passengers to breathe a little easier.

The airport operator has introduced a real-time baggage-tracking feature on its mobile app, giving travellers the ability to follow their checked luggage from the moment it’s dropped off at check-in to when it’s loaded onto the plane.

All passengers need to do is enter their booking reference and flight date, and they can see instant updates on their bags. It’s a small change, but one that could make a big difference in reducing travel anxiety.

ACSA says the new tool is part of a larger push toward digital transformation. Sello Makhubela, the company’s interim Chief Information Officer, says the feature isn’t just about convenience, it’s about building trust.

“By giving passengers real-time visibility of their baggage, we’re not just making travel easier, we’re also showing that they can rely on our processes. Technology enables us to better serve our passengers, and this feature is one of many innovations aimed at delivering a seamless, world-class travel experience.”

The updated ACSA Mobile App is available now on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.  With this new feature, passengers can finally know exactly where their luggage is and maybe enjoy the journey a little more.
