Eskom has announced that due to lower than anticipated demand, loadshedding will continue to be implemented at Stage 4, which previously stood at Stage 6, from 22:00 tonight.

Further, loadshedding will be lowered to Stage 2 until 7:00 on Saturday morning.

Stage 4 loadshedding will then be implemented at 07:00 – 22:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. During 22:00 – 07:00 on both Saturday and Sunday loadshedding will be at Stage 2.

Eskom added that the ‘small reprieve’ is due to a lower than anticipated demand during the weekend, and will continue to evaluate the situation, closely monitoring the system, “we will communicate and implement any changes as may be necessary.”
