A section of the R300 has been closed to motorists. Law enforcement officers are on the R300, where a protest action is underway. The protest is being held on the road between Jakes Gerwel Drive and AZ Berman Drive.

It’s unclear what the reason for the protest is. The City’s Maxine Bezuidenhout says the R300 is closed in both directions as a result.

R300 closed at Jakes Gerwel Drive, no traffic towards the N2
R300 closed towards Jakes Gerwel drive, all traffic diverted onto AZ Berman /Stock road
No traffic from AZ Berman/Stock road towards Jakes Gerwel

Bezuidenhout says the protest action is taking place on the R300 between Jakes Gerwel Drive and AZ Berman Drive.
