A missing traffic officer has been found alive

A missing traffic officer has been found alive, after his vehicle was earlier found abandoned. The vehicle of the off-duty officer was discovered on Baden Powell Drive this morning. There were blood stains in the vehicle and the key was found broken off in the ignition.

Officials at the City were notified just before 06:30am, that a vehicle, without occupants was located on Baden Powell Drive and there was blood in it. The key was also found broken off in the ignition. The spokesperson for Cape Town Traffic, Maxine Bezuidenhout says a search was launched.

 

Search launched for the missing traffic officer

 

The search involved among others, aerial resources, as well as the SAPS K9 Unit and other search and rescue teams. Bezuidenhout says the officer was located during the search and he appears to have been assaulted and robbed. The Police have launched an investigation.
