The original incident she’s accused of took place in 2019. She had allegedly visited a registered arms dealer in Stellenbosch to purchase a Musgrave Hunting rifle in full police uniform. She was reported for allegedly using a fake firearm license and arrested in May that year.

The Hawks say that as the trial got underway in 2021, Dyani did not appear in court. Hawks’ spokesperson, Siyabulela Vukubi says she was traced to the Eastern Cape and arrested. She will appear in a Cape Town court on Monday.
