South African National Civics Organisation (SANCO) in Witsand
Meanwhile, the DA’s Constituency Head for Atlantis, Blaauwberg and Table View, Nicholas Gotsell, has expressed his shock and sadness at the “senseless assassination”. Gotsell says the victim was Moses Matiso, the Chairperson of the South African National Civics Organisation (SANCO) in Witsand.
He added that the brutal murder is not only a loss to Matriso’s family and friends but also a profound loss to the entire Atlantis community.
Gotsell says, “Moses believed in a safer, more just Atlantis, and we owe it to his memory to continue his fight.”
He added that Moses was a tireless advocate for justice, service delivery and community safety. Gotsell says that Matiso’s leadership of the J.S. Masakala Branch and his active involvement with the CPF were instrumental in addressing critical service delivery challenges in communities.
He added, “We strongly condemn the heinous and cowardly act that took his life.”
Call for information
The party has asked the South African Police Service to treat this matter with the urgency it deserves. He has urged them to prioritise their investigation into the murder and to ensure that those responsible for this cruel and calculated act are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice. Gotsell says the violent manner in which Matiso was killed cannot go unanswered.
