Two suspects detained
It was upon inspection of the Mercedes that the two suspects had travelled in that officers found five bags of abalone. This was seized as evidence.

“Both the driver and the passenger were subsequently traced and arrested for possession of abalone,” added Manyana.
She says the driver of the white Daihatsu was taken to the hospital for medical treatment due to injuries sustained.
She added, “Sea Fisheries officers were on scene who will determine the value of the abalone.”
Manyana concluded that the suspects will appear in the Strand Magistrates’ court once charged.
