A Cape Town man has escaped the conflict in Ukraine, on foot.

English teacher, Johan Nel has reportedly spent around R30 000 on transport and has endured freezing conditions and sleepless hours to get to safety. As bombs were dropped, Nel journeyed 120 hours, on foot, to the Slovakian border. It has since been reported that he has travelled to Amsterdam before returning to the Mother City, via Johannesburg.
