A Beachfront Music Festival in Muizenberg. That’s one of the surprises beach-loving and music lovers can expect over the festive (summer) season. The organisers of Cape Open Air have confirmed that the music festival is back this year, for its third edition.
“Playing above the ocean, surrounded by familiar faces – it’s magic, ” says Jeremy Loops (headline performance at sunset).

Locals and visitors are invited to bring their sun-soaked summer vibes to Muizenberg Park on Saturday, 13 December 2025. This is just steps away from the iconic Muizenberg beachfront. The festival will be all about music, ocean atmosphere, and celebrating the local creative spirit. It’s curated by hometown favourite Jeremy Loops, and offers what fans describe as “a mini-Kirstenbosch by the sea”. So expect some surfboards, sea breezes, and sandy toes.

With sweeping views of the coastline and the gentle sound of waves rolling in, Cape Open Air is built for laid-back summer listening. Attendees can settle in from 12:00 with blankets, picnic baskets, sunscreen, and a love of local live music. The day will feature 5 South African acts, mixing established names with rising stars. This is perfect for discovering new sounds while enjoying the salty Muizenberg air.

As the sun dips behind the mountain and golden light sweeps across the park, Jeremy Loops closes the evening with the intimate energy that has made this event a Deep South favourite.
