Full list of countries considered high-risk and will not be allowed in SA for leisure

Published on

Tourism to South Africa is likely to take a long time to recover after government announced that tourists from several key markets would not yet be allowed to holiday here, just yet.

Ministers provided a list of countries with high Covid-19 infection and death rates, that will not be allowed to travel here for leisure purposes.

Visitors from China will be able to come here, but not those from the UK, USA, France, India, Brazil or the Netherlands, to name but a few.

International relations and cooperation minister Naledi Pandor says only those travelling for business or jobs, from high-risk countries, will be allowed.

She says strict health protocols will remain in place for ALL travelers, regardless of their country of origin.

Pandor says in addition to presenting a negative Covid-19 test on arrival, travelers will have to let authorities know about their movements in SA, in case they test positive later.
