Tourism Minister hopeful that South Africa’s tourism-sector would make great strides in its recovery

Published on

Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, says she is hopeful that South Africa’s tourism-sector would make great strides in its recovery, under level 1 of the national lockdown.

Kubayi-Ngubane said this yesterday during World Tourism Day celebrations, and added that with the country’s international borders opening on Thursday, concerted effort by all role-players, would see the sector recover even faster.

She says domestic tourism, under levels 4, 3 and 2 of the lockdown, has helped stimulate economic activity, creating valuable income for local tourism-operators.
