Pics: Theewaterskloof Dam is not yet overflowing, but is very, very close!

The Manager of the Theewater Sports Club says the Theewaterskloof dam is not yet overflowing, but another cold front should do the trick.

A video has been doing the rounds over the weekend showing water flowing over the dam’s edge – but Jacques Dreyer says this was the wind blowing the water over the dam wall.

Dreyer says the dam normally overflows at 27.44 metres – and currently it is on 27.4 metres – so it is very close!

He says another bout of decent rain is what is needed. And with more rain predicted for this week – the sluices might yet open!
