The Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says the World has learned a lot of tough, but vital lessons during the covid-19 pandemic.

Ghebreyesus was addressing delegates during at 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe yesterday, and says these lessons will play a vital role in addressing future pandemics.

He also cautioned that if the necessary health- and safety-guidelines are not adhered to, that a second wave of covid-19 infections may be experienced.

Ghebreyesus says, to date, the W.H.O. has shipped more than US$330-million worth of PPE to 165 countries globally, to help fight the covid-19 pandemic.

He says further, organized collaboration between countries will ensure that, in the long run, covid-19 can be beaten.
