Deputy President, David Mabuza, says the restructuring of Eskom should be completed by 2022.
The restructuring, which will see the power-utility divided into 3 seperate entitities of generation, transmission and distribution, was announced by president Cyril Ramaphosa in February of 2019.
Mabuza was answering questions in Parliament this week, related to the electricity-generation challenges faced by Eskom.
His appearance before Parliament, follows the announcement this week that the country has been placed on level 4 of load-shedding.
Mabuza says Government has no intention of privatizing Eskom.
Deputy President @DDMabuza says @Eskom_SA must be supported to implement a comprehensive turnaround programme, which will ensure that the utility develops and enhances its requisite institutional capabilities to meet the country’s energy needs.#MabuzaQandA
