Kevin Anderson put up a colossal fight to stay alive in the US Open after a tough first-round draw against fifth seed Alexander Zverev last night.
It was the German who continued his dominance over Anderson, who is now unbeaten in their last 6 meetings.
Meanwhile, fellow South African Lloyd Harris progressed to the next stage of the tournament following a straight-sets victory over Italy’s Marco Cecchinato late last night.
The South African No 1 won 6-4, 7-5 & 6-2 in one hour and 54 minutes to reach the second round of the US Open for the first time.
