National Space Agency to build 6 new Satellites

Published on

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) says a new R4.4 billion financial grant will enable it to build up to six satellites, to supply South Africa with vital space data.

The funding, of which R3 billion will be allocated for the building of the satellites, has been sourced via President Cyril Ramaphosa’s sustainable infrastructure development symposium.

CEO of the National Space Agency (SANSA), Dr Val Munsami, says funds will also be used to upgrade its space weather-centre.
