The MEC for Finance and Economic Opportunities, David Maynier, says the 2020 provincial budget will serve the people, putting first the needs and wishes of Western Cape residents.
Maynier tabled the budget here in Cape Town this morning, allocating 224-billion-Rand, over the medium term, to improve service delivery across the province.
Maynier says over the next 3 years, 83.2-billion-Rand will be spent on improving Health services, while another 79.4-billion-Rand will be spent on bolstering Education in the Western Cape.
For the 2020 financial year Health gets R26 billion, Education R25 billion, while social services would receive R2.6 billion.
The province’s safety plan would get R481 million to get more law enforcement boots on the ground.
