It’s that time of year again, when Minstrel and Malay choir groups prepare for their annual cultural celebration events.

The City recently confirmed its support for these events, including the Tweede Nuwe Jaar Parade, which returns to its traditional date of 2 January, which conveniently falls on a Saturday in 2027.

Tweede Nuwe Jaar 2026 was celebrated on Monday 5 January, much to the disappointment of spectators, as this was a working day for many.

The Street Parade will again make its way through Green Point on the fanwalk towards DHL Stadium.
