Western Cape Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Sizakhele Dyantyi announced the reward after visiting the crime scene on Blode Street on Sunday.
Five people were shot and killed there, and three others were wounded.
The SAPS also noted that police came under attack when responding to the incident on Saturday, which Dyantyi condemned. Officers are said to have been pelted with stones when they arrived on the scene.
Nonetheless, police visibility has been bolstered in the area in a bid to find the suspects, as Anti-Gang Unit detectives investigate the matter.
“[Dyantyi] said it cannot be normal that people are killed in numbers in the communities we live in. Police resources were deployed to the area in an effort to bring those responsible for the murders and attempted murders to book,” read the SAPS statement.
Anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
