The DHL Stormers will return to Cape Town for their first home game of the new United Rugby Championship season, with around 40 000 spectators expected at DHL Stadium on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The City has reminded spectators that free MyCiTi shuttle services will be available to match ticket holders to avoid increased traffic in the City CBD and Green Point precinct.

The City’s free MyCiTi shuttle service will be available to match ticket holders from 12:30 pm, with buses departing from the Civic Centre, Thibault Square and the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The last shuttle will leave the stadium and Green Point precinct at 20:30.

Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, has encouraged spectators to make use of the shuttle service and arrive early.

Smith says the buses will help move spectators into the stadium precinct more easily while reducing pressure on the roads. City safety and security personnel, together with other City departments, will be deployed to help ensure a safe journey to and from the stadium.

“Arriving early and taking the bus helps us move as many people as possible into the stadium precinct with ease, while also easing the pressure on our roads. Our safety and security personnel, working alongside other City departments, will be deployed to help ensure a smooth and safe journey to and from the stadium,” said Smith

According to the City, the shuttle will operate at the CTICC from the City Sightseeing bus stop near Entrance 3 on Walter Sisulu Avenue, with round 1 000 paid parking bays available at the CTICC, with parking opening at 13:30.

The City will reportedly also open Civic Centre parking for ticket holders from 12:00. The bays, accessible from Hertzog Boulevard and Civic Road, will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and close at midnight. Motorists are warned that Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Stephan Way, Vlei Road and Granger Bay Boulevard will be affected from 06:00 until after the game.

The Stormers will face the Hollywoodbets Sharks, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00. Stadium gates will open at 13:00. The URC match will be followed by an SA Rugby Under-20 Cup match between the DHL Stormers BOLTS and Leopards U20 at 18:15.
