The Western Cape is celebrating another major achievement at the National Teaching Awards, with three of the province’s educators taking top honours in their respective categories on Thursday.

The 26th annual National Teaching Awards (NTAs) ceremony was held in Johannesburg, bringing together educators from across the country to celebrate excellence and dedication in education.

Western Cape Education Minister Jaco Londt has praised the province’s educators for their outstanding commitment and the difference they continue to make in the lives of learners.

“You have made the Western Cape and South Africa proud. Our national winners were among 15 teachers who represented the province at the 26th annual NTAs which celebrate excellence in education.”

The province’s three national champions were recognised for their excellence in:

• Inclusive Education Leadership: Mthobi Fihla from Phakamisani Primary School in Plettenberg Bay, representing Eden and Central Karoo.
