Atlantis Police have asked the public for help in identifying the people portrayed in the sketches released. Officers believe the people in the sketches can help them with their investigation into the murder cases of two victims who were shot in Witsand.

Police release sketches, need help

Captain Frederick C. van Wyk says members had responded to a shooting incident in Nqanqarhu, Witsand, Atlantis on Sunday, 16 August 2026. When they arrived at the scene, at approximately 12:25, they found an unknown male person with a fatal gunshot wound.

Assistance needed to identify individuals depicted in sketches

He says in another incident, a male victim was declared deceased at Chris Hani Street, Witsand, Atlantis. This followed a fatal shooting on Tuesday, 22 September. Atlantis SAPS detectives are now requesting the help of members of the public in identifying the people portrayed in the sketches.
