A 24-year-old man has lost his life in a devastating early-morning crash involving a minibus taxi in Lentegeur on Friday.
The collision happened at around 04:50 at the corner of Morgenster Road and Eisleben Road.
Lentegeur police have registered a case of culpable homicide as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Police spokesperson F.C Van Wyk says several others were injured in the crash.
“According to reports, two vehicles, a white Suzuki with three occupants and a white Toyota Quantum with six occupants were involved in this accident. In the Suzuki, a 24-year-old male was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel and the driver and another person were taken to hospital for medical treatment. In the Toyota Quantum, two people were seriously injured and four others sustained minor injuries. They were all transported to a medical facility.”

Police are now working to establish what caused the vehicles to collide and whether any factors contributed to the fatal crash.
No arrests have been made.
