An off-duty LEAP officer has been arrested after allegedly crashing a Law Enforcement vehicle into an informal structure in Delft earlier today.
The City of Cape Town says its Law Enforcement Department was alerted to the incident shortly before 13:00.
Law Enforcement spokesperson Wayne Dyason says information available to the City indicates that the officer was driving a Law Enforcement bakkie when he allegedly veered off the road and collided with an informal structure.
“The officer was arrested by SAPS on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.”

The City says no injuries were reported.
Dyason says the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
Dyason further says the matter will also be handled in line with the City’s disciplinary procedures.
