A suspected gang-related shooting has claimed the lives of two teenagers and left another injured in Eersterivier on Tuesday morning.

Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk says Kleinvlei police have opened cases of double murder and attempted murder following the attack, which left a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old dead.

Van Wyk says both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. A 16-year-old boy was also wounded.

“The injured victim was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. According to reports, the victims were standing at the mentioned address when four unidentified males walked to them and randomly shot at them.”
