Police in Atlantis have opened cases of murder, attempted murder and carjacking following a violent incident on Sunday in John van Niekerk Street in the industrial area.

Police confirmed that a 30-year-old woman was found near a factory with burn wounds on her back and a stab wound to her neck.

“She was found by a security officer, who immediately informed police. Before she was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, she pointed out the crime scene to police members.”

While at the scene, officers also discovered another woman next to a burnt-out vehicle. She was declared dead by medical personnel.
