SA Rider Named SX1 Wildcard for World Supercross Cape Town GP

Published on

South African motocross star Cameron Durow has been confirmed as the SX1 wildcard for the World Supercross Championship when it arrives in Cape Town for the South African GP. As a 9-time national champion and the 2025 MX1 National Champion, Durow’s inclusion brings major excitement as local fans get the rare chance to see a homegrown rider compete in the premier class.

Durow has been racing full-time in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in the United States since 2023, earning multiple top-30 finishes against some of the world’s best. He has also represented South Africa at the Motocross of Nations four times, strengthening the nation’s presence on the global motocross stage.

Durow says competing at home is an “incredible honour,” while event promoter Tony Feldman calls his SX1 appearance a landmark moment for South African motorsport. The World Supercross Cape Town GP promises world-class racing, massive fan energy, and a hometown favourite on the grid. Fans can secure tickets and watch all event details on the official World Supercross Championship website.
