The SAPS 10111 Call Centre is temporarily offline in some areas. This is because there’s a temporary outage affecting telephone lines. Colonel Andrè Traut from the South African Police Service in the Western Cape says telephone lines in parts of the Peninsula are currently experiencing an outage.

This, in turn, has affected the SAPS 10111 call centre. He has urged members of the public to contact their nearest police station directly if they need urgent police assistance. It’s not clear yet when the matter will be resolved. Colonel Traut says technicians are attending to the fault.

He added that it’s expected that the lines will be fully operational again later today. At this time, the SAPS have apologised for the inconvenience. Traut says they appreciate the public’s cooperation in this matter.
