Cape Town boasts another private higher education institution. STADIO has this week officially opened its new campus in the Northern suburbs, in Durbanville, near the Curro-Durbanville School.

Cape Town boasts another private higher education institution

The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of STADIO Higher Education, Dr Stan du Plessis, says their broader mission is to “serve the nation” by widening access to tertiary education and aligning studies to employability. He says they are also not pricing for the elite end of the market.

The campus will welcome its first cohort of students in February 2026, and there’s an Open Day this weekend (Saturday), for people to visit the campus and find out more about classes. At the same time, you will also be able to register for next year.

The campus is situated in the Groot Phesantekraal area, opposite the Curro Durbanville school. The Durbanville campus will have a capacity for between 4,000 and 5,000 contact-learning students. It will host 20 qualifications across seven Schools. These Schools include Education, IT, Law, Media and Design, Commerce, Architecture and Engineering. You will be able to complete higher certificates and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
