Galileo Cinema is back: Watch the Boks live!

Published on

Cape Town’s much-loved Galileo Open Air Cinema is making its annual return, bringing movies, picnics and starry nights back to the city from 15 October 2025 until 16 May 2026.

Now in its 14th season, The Galileo is rolling out more than just movies.

This year’s line-up features live sport screenings, dog-friendly shows, themed nights, exclusive Royale experiences, and spectacular new venues alongside all of the fan favourites that make Galileo great.

Perhaps the biggest crowd-pleaser will be the all-new live sport experience, where Springbok supporters can back the Boks and watch-along as the Springboks clash in an upcoming test match.

Fans can catch South Africa taking on Argentina on 27 September and Ireland on 22 November 2025 at Central Park in Century City.

Moviegoers can still look forward to the usual magic, with screenings at Kirstenbosch Garden on weekdays, Century City and the V&A Waterfront on select Fridays, and a tour of wine estates across Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Somerset West and Wellington on Saturdays.

“Unforgettable memories are made when we stay in the present and put distractions aside. At The Galileo, the only time you’ll reach for your phone is to capture the magic under the stars,” said Managing Director Matthew Schulz.
