Milnerton Police arrested a 54-year-old man for being in possession of drugs worth nearly R1 million on Wednesday.

According to Police Captain Frederick Van Wyk, the police members received information about the occupant of a silver Mercedes-Benz who was selling drugs.

Van Wyk says Milnerton police officers immediately operationalised the information and found the vehicle in Kinetic Way, Century City.

“The vehicle was stopped and searched, drugs was found in the vehicle as well as on the occupant.”

According to police, the suspect was then taken to his house in Pinelands, where a large quantity of drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime were found.

“The estimated street value of the drugs is R900 000.00.”

Van Wyk says the suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court once charged.
