A Cape Town couple has been arrested for the murder of a car guard in Bloubergstrand, which was caught on camera.

The incident took place at Marine Circle on Sunday. According to reports, a vehicle stopped in a parking area, and a male driver got out, approached a man believed to be a car guard and stabbed him. The driver and a woman in the passenger seat then fled the scene.

Police confirmed that the suspects were traced and arrested on the same day.

“Detectives apprehended two suspects linked to a murder, which occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, 31 August 2025 at Marine Circle in Bloubergstrand,” said Table View police station spokesperson, Captain Adriana Chandler.

She added that officers had noticed a commotion while on routine patrols in the Bloubergstrand area.

“An unknown male was found unresponsive, with a stab wound under his arm. Paramedics declared the victim deceased at the scene.”

Investigators obtained CCTV footage, which helped identify and track the suspects to a property near the crime scene, shortly before noon.

“A male, 30-years-old and a female, 24-years-old are charged with murder and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 02 September 2025,” said Chandler.

Meanwhile, the Beach Boulevard Business Forum (BBBF) has also urged residents not to speculate.

“We respectfully ask the community to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified content on social media… Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of residents, visitors, and staff along the Boulevard,” said the organisation in a statement.

The BBBF has announced that it will expand CCTV coverage and boost security patrols along the busy strip ahead of the festive season.
