The CODETA taxi association intends to challenge the interdict preventing them from operating on certain routes.
The Western Cape Government sought and was granted the interdict last week to curb ongoing violent and fatal taxi violence, which erupted last month.

The CATA association, as well as affiliates of the mentioned associations, are also affected.
They have been barred from operating at the Somerset West taxi rank and mall, as well as on certain routes in Somerset West, Khayelitsha, Lwandle, Mfuleni, and Nomzamo.
This is among other measures implemented until 9 October.
“We will consult with out legal team and stakeholders to determine the best course of action. The safety of our people is one of our priorities,” said CODETA spokesperson, Makhosandile Tumana.
