There was a brutal assault on Table Mountain recently and the woman targeted has lost 50% of the vision in one of her eyes. The attack took place two Sundays ago.

Cape Town Police officers are still looking for the suspect who recently brutally assaulted a mountain hiker on Table Mountain. The woman, who was hiking alone on the Jeep Track on 6 July, was attacked by a man who repeatedly hit her over the head with a rock.

 

SANParks rangers on the Mountain administer first aid

 

SANParks rangers were called to the scene and conducted first aid on the victim. According to her husband she has lost 50% of her vision in her left eye after a 4-hour long operation.
