A body has been discovered in Sir Lowry’s Pass. Cape Town Police have confirmed to Smile FM, that an investigation has been launched into the recent discovery of a body in Sir Lowry’s Pass and whether it’s that of a taxi driver who disappeared last week.

A body has been discovered
Passers-by found the body of a 36-year-old man in the bushes along the N-2 and Sir Lowry’s Pass Road yesterday. While Police have opened an inquest docket and are still trying to establish the cause of death, the discovery follows tensions in the taxi industry in Somerset West last week. A taxi driver from Lwandle has recently been reported as missing.

A taxi driver has reportedly gone missing
Meanwhile, Public Order Police remain on high alert in Somerset West, following threats of taxi violence. Community crime groups yesterday alerted residents to steer clear of the Somerset Mall taxi rank, where locals reported, fighting among taxi drivers, but Police have confirmed that no incidents, damage or injuries were reported at the taxi rank or surrounding areas yesterday. Spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie says officers are vigilant and will address any incidents, if they should occur.
