A triple murder in Kraaifontein has left the community reeling. Police say three people were killed in a shooting last night in the Wallacedene informal settlement. Colonel Andrè Traut says a fourth person was wounded. At the same time, officers have this morning arrested three suspects in connection with last night’s murders.
A triple murder in Kraaifontein has left the community reeling
Colonel Traut says armed assailants had opened fire on the four victims at an establishment in Fransina Street, Wallacedene, at approximately 22:00 last night. He believes the incident is gang-related.
“The efforts of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to combat serious and violent crime in the Province led to the arrest of three male suspects, aged between 21 and 34, this morning.”
The Cape Town Police spokesperson says two victims, aged 17 and 20, were declared dead at the scene.
The incident could be gang-related
The remaining two were transported to a hospital. It was there that a third victim, an 18-year-old, later succumbed to his injuries. Traut added that the fourth victim is still in the hospital. Shortly after the crime, officers affiliated with the Kraaifontein Police Station acted swiftly and followed up on several leads.

Blue Downs Magistrates Court
This resulted in an operation this morning that led to the arrest of three suspects. He says, once formally charged, the suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder. The suspects are between the ages of 21 and 34 years.
