According to wikipedia, Pacific World (previously Sun Princess) is a Sun-class cruise ship built in 1995 and operated by Peace Boat. At the time of her construction, she was one of the largest cruise ships in the world. She was the lead ship of her class that included sister ships Charming and the P&O ships Pacific Explorer and Queen of the Oceans.

There are also reports that the Sun Princess was the ship featured from 1998 to 1999 on the short-lived television show, Love Boat: The Next Wave, starring Robert Urich. According to a website article, the show was a revival of the original The Love Boat television series which ran from 1977 to 1986.

It also made the news in October 2007 as the largest ship to ever cross beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge while entering the harbour for the first time. This was with a vertical clearance of approximately 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) to spare at low tide.

Seven years ago, the Sun Princess underwent a two-week dry dock, where she received a new livery design, a new stateroom category, shops, and other onboard amenities. Five years ago, she was sold to Peace Boat and then renamed Pacific World.

The ship has 9 passenger decks and offers a spacious, relaxing environment for an around-the-world journey. Pacific World is also the largest ship ever sailed in Peace Boat’s 40-year history.

From the V&A Waterfront website:

Originally built in 1995, Pacific World operates as part of the Peace Boat organisation’s fleet, a Japan-based non-governmental organisation promoting peace, human rights, and sustainable development. Used for educational voyages, global peace missions, and cultural exchange programs, the ship offers a unique travel experience that combines cruising with activism and learning.”
