Published on

The Museum of Dogs, the country’s only canine-inspired art museum, is celebrating an exciting six months since its grand opening. In just half a year, the unique museum has captured the hearts of dog lovers and art enthusiasts alike, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.

To mark the milestone, the museum has unveiled two new exhibitions designed to captivate both dog fans and general art connoisseurs. Whether you’re a seasoned art lover or a dog enthusiast, there’s something for everyone to appreciate, and yes your four-legged best friend can tag along too.

“With late night hours such as this, this allows visitors to experience the museum in a completely different way. We’re doing this because we’ve always wanted to redefine what a museum can be. We wanted a space where people can engage with exhibits in a fun and formal way, including now to visit at night,” said founder Karel van der Vyver.

‘NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM’

In addition to the new exhibitions, the Museum of Dogs is making it easier for visitors to experience its canine-themed art by extending its hours on select days, offering evening access for those looking to explore after dark.

But that’s not all—three exciting new treasure hunts are also being launched while free drinks are also on offer at the art gallery.

“I think the museum’s popularity taps into the uniqueness of people’s relationships with their dogs. It’s one of the most special and personal relationships we have in the world. People visit here sometimes with their dogs just to appreciate that which is very special,” van der Vyver added.

From Wednesday to Saturday, the museum’s doors will be open until 20h00 making it the only museum in the Mother City to be open at this time. It will continue to be open from 10h00 to 17h00 on Tuesdays and Sundays.
