Residents who are looking for ways to cool off this summer can look forward to visiting the City of Cape Town’s swimming pools. Of the municipality’s 38 pools, 37 will be operational.

The reopening of the pools will be rolled out in a phased approach. Ten pools are already operational so far. They include the Long Street, Atlantis, Blue Downs, Kuils River Resort, Elsies River, Parow North, Muizenberg, Retreat, Newlands and Zandvlei Caravan Park swimming pools. The Vulindlela Swimming Pool in Gugulethu is the only one that will not be available to swimmers. This pool will remain closed for the entirety of the 2024/25 season, due to planned redevelopment.
