It’s Official: Cape Town is the BEST City in the WORLD for Food

Topping off a week in which the Mother City was crowned Africa’s leading City destination, and the leading Cruise Port on the continent, along with several other titles at the World Travel Awards, Cape Town now also boasts the title of Best City in the WORLD for Food, beating the likes of Milan and Valencia to the top spot.

 

Local Foodies will not be surprised, as Cape Town is renowned for its culinary delights and gastronomic experiences, with some of the world’s top restaurants on our doorstep.

 

Readers in the 2024 2024 Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards agree, and have voted that Cape Town is indeed the world’s culinary capital.

 

The Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards are considered one of the most respected awards in the travel industry, with millions of travellers sharing their experiences on top destinations and services.

 

The awards are seen as a trusted guide for those seeking exceptional global travel experiences.

 

The Mother City’s food scene is anything but boring, drawing influences from African, Dutch, Malay, and Indian cuisines, it is truly a melting pot where unique flavours harmonise.

The CEO of Cape Town Tourism Enver Duminy says he is thrilled that the City has secured yet another accolade:
