[WATCH] Table Mountain adorned with snow

As icy—cold temperatures persist, the iconic tourism hotspot, Table Mountain was transformed on Wednesday morning when it was draped in a blanket of snow.

 

This follows days a number of cold fronts that have been sweeping across the country. Table Mountain Aerial Cableway’s Executive Director Selma Hercules shared the news and footage.

 

 

“Images captured by our team, who are currently preparing for our official re-opening next week, have been circulating on social media,” said Hercules.

TMACC shut down for Annual Maintenance from on 15 July and reopens 1 September.

 

“Our iconic landmark is also in the running for Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the World Travel Awards 2024! Your vote can help us secure this prestigious title and showcase the magic of Table Mountain to the world,” added Hercules.

Frosty conditions will continue into Thursday, with Sutherland predicted to be the coldest area in the province at a freezing overnight temperature of -9°C
