Another learner murdered, 2 teenagers in court

A pupil from a Paarl school was robbed and murdered on Friday evening. The attack took place exactly a month after the head boy of the same school also died in a stabbing incident.

Another learner murdered

Paarl Police say 19-year-old Lee-Hogan Williams from Paulus Joubert Senior Secondary School was robbed and attacked with a knife in a cemetery.
The Police say the School’s head boy, Julano King was allegedly killed, earlier this month.

He was reportedly stabbed in the neck by his 23-year-old cousin in their home. The attack took place on 17 July. Julano later died in the Paarl Hospital.

Learner in court: Overberg High School Murder

Meanwhile, a teenager, who was arrested in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Deveney Nel at Overberg High School, more than a week ago, will appear in court today.

The 17-year-old was detained on Friday, at his home. His legal representative was apparently with him, at the time of his arrest, along with his parents.

Teenager in Court: Breakdancer’s Murder

At the same time, a 15-year-old boy, who appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Friday, in connection with the murder of the Eerste-River break-dancer Ruben Jansen will also return to the dock today as he is due to make a second court appearance.
 The teenager was taken into custody on Thursday in connection with Jansen’s death.

B-boy Ruben

Jansen, also known as B-boy Ruben, was sitting in a car with friends when shots were fired at them. He died at the scene, while his friends were taken to hospital, with gunshot wounds. The breakdancer was due to leave the country in the coming weeks, to represent South Africa at an overseas competition.
