Weather warnings for the week, but not for flooding

The South African Weather Service has issued weather warnings for the week, but not for flooding. Residents in the Province can expect strong, damaging winds, as well as dangerous coastal swells.

Weather warnings for the week

The yellow level 3 warning for damaging swells is in effect from tomorrow night (Tuesday evening) until Thursday on the coast between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay. Then there’s also a Yellow level 1 warning for damaging wind for tomorrow (Tuesday) between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas.

A 60% chance of showers

By tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday, there’s also a 60% chance of showers over parts of the province, including Cape Town, the Paarl, Langebaan and Grabouw.

Yellow level 1 warning for damaging winds leading to difficulty in navigation at sea, is expected between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas on Tuesday, spreading to Plettenberg Bay on Wednesday (13-14/08/2024).

Yellow level 1 warning for damaging interior winds leading to localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes, is expected over southern Namakwa (N. Cape) and the Central Karoo district (W. Cape) on Tuesday afternoon (13/08/2024).
