If you were intending on managing your municipal accounts on the day of the upcoming public holiday, Cape Town residents are reminded that municipal offices will be closed.

The City of Cape Town also advised that offices will be closed on the other public holidays, after Human Rights Day as well.

The City’s Revenue Department offices (payment, account enquiries and motor vehicle registration and licensing) as well as Traffic Services’ driver’s licence testing centres, Human Settlements’ offices and municipal courts will be closed on the following dates over the period March to May 2024:

Human Rights Day Thursday, 21 March 2024
Good Friday Friday, 29 March 2024
Easter Saturday Saturday, 30 March 2024
Easter Sunday Sunday, 31 March 2024
Family Day Monday, 1 April 2024
Freedom Day Saturday, 27 April 2024
Workers’ Day Wednesday, 1 May 2024
2024 South African General Election Wednesday, 29 May 2024

But Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Siseko Mbandezi, has reminded residents that there are online portals to make the necessary arrangements.

“We encourage residents to use our simple and convenient e-Services options and to make an online booking when visiting a customer office in person. Customers are also urged to settle their municipal account by using the convenient QR code on their invoice.”

If you’re unsure of how to make an appointment at a municipal, here’s a video on how to do so:

Furthermore, payments can be made online, via www.easypay.co.za or www.powertime.co.za, or via EFT, at an ATM or at Shoprite, Checkers, USave, Pick n Pay, PEP, Ackermans, Lewis, Top It Up, Woolworths and selected Spar shops.
